Little Things

Hi people,

A couple things. I fixed a couple minor bugs on the site. Basically, I wasn't handling tags very well. Sometimes the pagination was failing, it wouldn't let you get to the next page. Or, private posts were showing up in public feeds based on tags on that posts. That's all fixed. Wonderful.

Also, I've launched a few other iPhone apps in the past month or so. A couple under the name "Our Beautiful Faces", which is the umbrella identity I'm going to use for all future iPhone development. Those include the Death Cab for Cutie app, and a silly joke app called Shut Up. Also, in the past couple weeks, the new version of MLB.com's At Bat Lite came out. That's where I work during the day. This Lite version is the preview to the premium version that will come out near opening day that will feature Gameday Audio, and all the other stuff you might have gotten to know last year(Pitch by pitch, in-game video highlights, etc)..

That's the latest.. Sorry I don't post here very often. I've been posting more at the Our Beautiful Faces blog. Too many blogs.. Too many blogs..

Clowdy + Polarize = Love!

Quick note on another iPhone app, this time one I had nothing to do with, but love nonetheless.

Polarize is a camera app that makes your snaps polaroid-like. Way better than Camera Bag which has polaroid filter as well, but the border lacks any texture. Polarize makes it look like you scanned an actual polaroid, which rules. This is not to say that Camera Bag sucks.. It's pretty cool.. I like the other filters.. i'm just saying they should add texture to their "Instant" filter..

So, as for me and my family, we will only post photos preprocessed by Polarize now.

Other notable Polarized Clowdy feeds:
I love it so much, I might duplicate the functionality in the next Clowdy release. Or, I could release a simple API, that apps like Polarize could connect to if the developers were so inclined..

BTW, save polaroid and Support the impossible.

1.2.1 Released

Hey Everyone,

A small bug fix release was posted this weekend to the App Store for Clowdy. Nothing major in it, but a few little bug fixes and added a button on the "My Photos" view so you could get to your configuration a little easier..

Have some great holidays!

Ok, Let's Play Nice

People fight. People get on each others nerves. People flaunt. People taunt. People provoke. People are people, so why should it be, you and I should ... blah blah blah.. you know the rest.

Maybe you've noticed, maybe not, but not everyone likes everyone else on Clowdy. It was bound to happen. Someone doesn't like something about whatever, says something, which provokes a response, and then it never ends.

So, I encourage you to try and do your own thing on Clowdy. Find your friends. Leave others be. If someone harasses you, try and ignore them.

We've added some tools to help with that. Now, you can block particular people from commenting on your photos. People are good in general, I believe, but there is always someone who isn't. So, when they come your way and say something stupid as a comment, don't hit them back with the same stupidity. Block them. If somehow they continue to harass you. Email us. We'll try to think of something.

You can also disable comments altogether. After you log in, you will be taken your profile page. There will be a new section on that page for Profile Options. For right now, it only has a checkbox to Hide Comments, but more settings may show up as needed.

In other news..

Hey!

This isn't about Clowdy directly, but really about the other iPhone App that I worked on this year.

Apple aired a TV commercial for MLB.com At Bat for the first time during Dodgers/Phillies NLCS game last night..

Link to the iPhone TV spots. Ours is called "Game Changer".

Direct link to the MOV file in case the Gallery disappears or whatever.

Mad props to all the people at MLB and Apple that made this possible..

Oh, and here's a link to me and Rob presenting the app at WWDC Keynote a few months back..

Tag MGMT!

Hey Kids!

A quick update tonight. I added the ability to add or remove tags from your photos. Just go to the photo detail page and there will now be "DELETE" links next to your tags and a little form to add new ones.

Enjoy! XOXOX
